Luckily in Kenya, you don’t have to be a professional to start your real estate journey. However, getting certified gives you credibility in the flooded market and hence more business.

In this article, we list the top 5 universities offering real estate courses in Kenya in 2022.

1. University of Nairobi (UoN)

The University of Nairobi is one of the university offer this course in Kenya. Offered both at this main campus and the Kikuyu campus, the degree takes 4 years to completion.

In terms of qualifications, a minimum aggregate of a C+ (plus) in KCSE and a C+ (plus) in Maths, English or Kiswahili and a science or business studies. In addition, Geography, Agriculture, History or any other applied science is considered.

Diploma holders in either building & construction, Architecture, land surveying or civil engineering can pursue the course as well.

2. Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology (JKUAT)

The course is offered at the university’s school of Architecture and building sciences in Juja, Nairobi. Similarly, the bachelor’s degree takes 4 years and requires a minimum of B- (minus) to join.

A candidate also requires a C+ (plus) in the following subjects: Maths; English or Kiswahili; Design or business studies; Physics, geography or building & construction.

3. Kenyatta University (KU)

Another top university offering real estate courses in Kenya is Kenyatta University. At KU, the minimum entry requirement is a C+ (plus) in KCSE in aggregate. You also need atleast a C+ (plus) in Maths; Physics; English and Geography. Likewise, the real estate course takes 4 years to completion.

Based on previous fee payment arrangements, the bachelor’s degree in real estate is Ksh. 147,725 for private Kenyan students per year. Non Kenyan students are expected to pay around Ksh. 184, 656 annually.

4. Mount Kenya University (MKU)

Fourth on our list of universities offering real estate courses in Kenya is MKU. Here, the minimum entry grade is C+ (plus) in KCSE. For applicants with a diploma in land management, survey and estate management, they can apply to be admitted as well.

5. Technical University of Kenya (TUK)
