The KAKAMEGA INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT CONFERENCE To Be Held In March 2024
The Kakamega County through its Investments Agency, the Kakamega County Investment and Development Agency – KCIDA is organizing the first ever Kakamega International Investment Conference. This high level investors meetup event will be held between 19th – 22nd March 2024 at the iconic Bukhungu Stadium within Kakamega Town. The event was confirmed on Friday by the Governor during the unveiling of Nation Media as the exclusive media partner of the conference.
Themed “Opening up Counties as Frontiers for Investment and Development“, the four-day event aims to show-case to the world the immense investment opportunities that we have in rural counties especially in the Lake Region and Western Kenya such as Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, Trans Nzoia, Kisumu, Siaya, Homabay, Nandi, Kisii, Nyamira, Bomet among many others. Furthermore, the conference has attracted alot of interest from across the country with expected participation of counties from as far as Central Kenya, Coastal region and Eastern. The diaspora community and potential investors have as well started onboarding thus promising you an avalanche of opportunities for your business to meet prospective funders, partners and other key stakeholders in your enterprise value chains.

With Agriculture being the biggest contributor to the Kakamega Gross County Product (GCP) at 52% and creating over 1.52M jobs in the county alone, is definitely a key economic sector of interest at the upcoming investment conference. Currently, the County Government with support from the National Government and JICA has made great advancements in opening up the agricultural regions through infrastructural developments like access roads and now with a focus on adoption of avocado, sunflower and upland rice farming.
